Hosting
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, your browser sends technical data to GitHub's servers, including your IP address, the requested page, the time and your browser's user agent. GitHub logs the IP address for security purposes, even if you do not have a GitHub account. We cannot see these logs and have no influence on how long GitHub keeps them.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in delivering this website securely and reliably. GitHub is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which covers the transfer to the USA (Art. 45 GDPR). Details: GitHub General Privacy Statement.
Newsletter
When you sign up on the home page, we store the email address you enter. We use it only to tell you about DevFest Berlin: for example when tickets go on sale, the Call for Speakers opens, or speakers are announced.
The sign-up form sends your address to Google Forms, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The addresses are stored in a Google spreadsheet that only the organizers can access. Google may also process the data in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR). Details: Google Privacy Policy.
Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future: reply to any of our emails or write to devfest-berlin-2026@googlegroups.com, and we will delete your address. We delete the whole list at the latest 12 months after the event.
Contacting us by email
If you email us, we use your address and message only to answer you. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR if your message relates to taking part in the event, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. We delete the correspondence when it is no longer needed.
Code of Conduct reports
If you report a concern under the Berlin Code of Conduct, we record what you tell us, your contact details if you give them, and the names of the people involved. We use this only to deal with the report. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a safe event for everyone.
Only the organizers handling the report see it. Where needed to act, we may share the necessary details with venue security, the police, or Google's community team, which runs the Google Developer Groups program. We delete report records at the latest 12 months after the event, unless we need them longer to resolve a case.
Tickets, talk submissions and other platforms
Links to the ticket shop, the Call for Speakers and our social media profiles lead to other providers. Nothing is sent to them until you click a link. From then on, their privacy policies apply.
